The Metro Gallery is a contemporary art gallery committed to exhibiting collectable Indigenous art, contemporary Australian art and work from promising emerging artists.
Since its inception our modern art gallery has built a reputation on promoting and presenting contemporary Australian art. Both through showcasing the works of artistic luminaries such as John Olsen, Tommy Watson, Kathleen Petyarre, Tim Storrier, Michael Johnson, and Criss Canning, as well as young Australian artists Jasper Knight and Michael Peck.
Our modern art gallery is dedicated to bringing some of the finest international artists to Australia, including world renowned stencil artist Blek Le Rat and Alexander Hoda, the enfant terrible of English sculpture.
We also strive to discover the next generation of great Australian artists through the annual $50,000 Metro Art Award, the richest prize available to artists under the age of 35. Previous finalists have included Anthony Lister, Ben Quilty, Sam leach and Jackson Slattery.
